| Story | Saraswati Chandra (Munish) is all set to marry Kumud (Nutan), daughter of a neighbouring Dewan. However, his jealous sister-in-law forces him to leave his ancestral residence and Kumud is forced to marry a drunkard (Ramesh Deo). In desperation, she tries to commit suicide but is rescued by the nuns in a charitable mission. She meets Saraswati Chandra again. Her husband dies and she is encouraged by her family to marry Saraswati Chandra but she dedicates her life to charity work. The film sees one of Nutan's best performances. Indeevar's lyrics for the songs Phool Tumhe Bheja Hai Khat Mein, Chanda Sa Badan and Main To Bhool Chali Babul Ka Des are set to music by Kalyanji Anandji. |
