| Story | Rakesh (Kumar), the son of a Rangoon merchant, comes to Calcutta in search of his brother's killer with the help of Joe, a restaurant manager, and Edna (Madhubala). Rakesh knew not what adventure lay in store for him across the Howrah Bridge. He had rushed to Calcutta from Rangoon on receipt of the news that his elder brother had met a gruesome end in the great metropolis, the body being found on the bridge.
